Upcoming exhibition and stuff
At Trolls & Legendes, Mons, Belgium
I was checking my Patreon page yesterday and realized that I had almost 800 posts on it! This is quite a milestone :)
I was not that active at the beginning with this platform. I was trying above all to understand how it works, how to be seen within Patreon - which is still a mystic science for me - and I was also trying to understand what people expected because they were not very chatty compared to other networks.
10 years later, my followers are more chatty, and this reassures me because I was very concerned and confused that I could write or draw boring stuff here and not elsewhere … or maybe I was all wrong …
When I try to figure out, I’m always thinking about this absurd movie “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” :
The answer is 42…
I guess I will understand one day the laws - of the universe, maybe not - but at least Patreon ^^ this a goal more at my reach … well we will see !
10 years later, I am more in an acceptance mode and I try above all to follow my projects and ideas and I put aside the tricky mystery of the “how it works” until I find a magic juju. My brain is not wider for that sort of things.
Today, I also realized that on my new book project I am already gathering 138 posts (Huzzah!) and this is just the beginning!
Here is a sneak peak of my last creation on a theme I love very much : changelings <3
As I prepare my next show - next WE - I wanted to share with you some book signatures I made on Apr 5-6.
… and I even made a little doodle of a mermaid for someone who was struggling to draw without references, to explain to her that she should first doodling quickly the thing she had in mind, to fix it for good on paper even if it was clumsy, and then search the references she would need to go further instead of being stuck at the very beginning.
Next WE I will in Belgium, for the Trolls & Legendes show, that I enjoy very much.
I am quite happy to be the guest of honour this year. For those who will be there, stop by and say hi, go and see the exhibition of my work and Blacksmith Miniatures’s tiny figures (hand sculpted and hand painted) based on my work. It’s going to be awesome!
There will be stuff like this on the exhibition wall ;-)
I will share the real stuff at our return!
I can’t stop thinking about the 2023 edition of this show when this guy stopped at our booth with his red head family. Margo recognized him at once, it took me a few minutes more to connect my neurons and understood that he was BRETT BEAN (yes he is on Substack and here is his website!)!
I’m sending him all my wishes and good vibs to him and family. I hope we will meet again and have the time to talk about everything we have in mind.
We started to breath again after the picture of course ^^
